As a young South African PGA Tour Player, Mel was inspired to become a professional instructor by his coach and eventual partner, renowned teaching guru Phil Ritson. With over 50 years of international teaching experience, Mel was awarded the prestigious South African PGA Master Professional status in 2013 — an honor achieved by only 18 individuals.
